Dahlia Birthday

I get color inspiration from all different places, and for this card it was from a pair of sneakers and socks that one of my students was wearing!  I loved the teal and orange, with a bit of gray!  Then I also got inspired with the card design from this card by Dawn McVay.

I used the Cuttlebug Seeing Spots embossing folder to emboss my piece of teal cardstock and layered it over a strip of gray, onto the white card base.  I cut the card base at 4" x 5 1/2" so that I could have the flowers hanging off the edge, but the card will still fit into an A2 size envelope.  The flowers were made with Papertrey Ink's Delightful Dahlia stamps and dies.  I heat embossed the stamped images with white embossing powder and then colored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens.  The sentiment is from PTI's Ruby Rose.
