First Project with Cricut Explore!

Well, I broke down and got a Cricut Explore, and I sure am glad that I did!  What a great machine!  The Cricut Design Space software is so easy to use, and I love having all of my Cricut cartridges right there at my fingertips!  I feel like they are finally going to get some use again after having been neglected for the last couple of years!

The other thing that I'm really excited about with the Explore is the iPad app.  Right now with the app you can cut pre-made projects like this cute little candy-cane card!  That's right; I never even turned on my computer to make this.  And, coming in January, we'll be able to use the full Cricut Design Space app on the iPad!

I cut this project as is, just dressing it up a bit by using some patterned paper and popping up the candy-cane with some dimensional adhesive.  I also cut a little slit in the fold of the card so that I could bring some twine through and tie a bow, and then I added a little sentiment from My Creative Time's Teeny Tag Holidays.

Look for more new projects with the Cricut Explore this week!

Products used on this card:

  3. Beautiful card! I'm hoping Santa is bringing me the Explore for Christmas (I've certainly dropped enough hints!). I figure by then you will have the whole machine figured out and I can learn it from you! :)

  4. Love what you created it turned out so beautiful....I know I love my Explore too but still use my Expression as I just am a Cricut Lover....I have the IPad Air2 on my Christmas List sooooo
Love everything you had to say about the Explore I so agree and what you made is outstanding and so cute!!
    Katie YOU ROCK!!

  5. How cute! I've been trying to decide if I want the Cricut Explore or the new Cameo! The only turn off about the explore is that it needs to be connected to the internet to use and I live in a rural area which has iffy internet service. Some days are perfect and other days not so much. LOL

  6. Very pretty! It will be fun to use some old cartridges!
