Since I became an empty nester a month ago, I decided I should take up a new hobby: crochet! I'm taking a class with two friends, and it has been a blast. I really haven't had much time to put into it because of the craziness of the start of a school year, so I'm quite pathetic at it. We just laugh and laugh at class, but it's just what I need. My one friend picked it up right away, luckily, so she has been able to help me. Last week I had a bit of a breakthrough, and since my practice piece was working out, I stopped when it became a square and turned it into a coaster to send to my son at college. A crocheted coaster is what every college boy dreams of, right? Don't worry, it was tucked into a care package full of things he really would want. And I think he actually did appreciate it, since he's heard about my struggles, LOL!
Of course, I couldn't send it off without a handmade tag, and luckily the My Creative Time All Around Goodies stamp set had the perfect sentiment. I used the Scallop & Stitched Circle Dies, along with one of the Stitched Heart Layering Dies.
Products used on the tag:
