MCT Try Me Tuesday

It's Try Me Tuesday with My Creative Time and we're trying a fun technique today that was new to me:  faux embossing!  To start off, I made a 4 1/4" x 5 1/4"  black card base and then added a patterned layer using a little sneak from our upcoming release and My Mind's Eye Wicked 6x6 stack.  Then I made a tag using paper from this same stack and the Tag Dies.  To get the little stitched circle on the tag, I used the one that comes with the Scallop Stitched Envelope Die, and then topped it with a brad from My Mind's Eye Mischievous collection.

Here's where the fun technique comes in.  I cut a circle with Papertrey Ink ripe avocado cardstock, using a die from Bunches of Fun Circles.  Then, following the technique I learned in this video, I stamped this cute witch image from Fright Night with white ink.  After it dried, I stamped it again, a little offset, with ripe avocado ink.  I adhered this circle onto a larger circle made of vellum and then attached the whole thing to my card with dimensional adhesive.

Lastly, I added a spooky sentiment, also from Fright Night.

Be sure to stop by Emma's blog to see what she and the rest of the design team have to share with you today!
