It's Inspiration Wednesday with My Creative Time, and today I have a card inspired by a couple of the techniques I learned in Online Card Class's Stretch Your Stamps 2 class. If you were ever interested in taking a class, I encourage you to check this one out. It's very inexpensive, and you can hop in at any time and go at your own pace. It's running live for the next 2 weeks, but I know I won't be able to keep up with school starting in a few weeks, and that's okay. :-)
For the background of this card, I followed one of Kristina Werner's technique. First, I heat embossed the MCT Hexy Background with white embossing powder, and then went over it with watercolors. Once the watercolors had dried, I went back and painted in the individual hexagons.
Next I used a technique that Jennifer McGuire shared with one of her cards. I used the largest of the 3 Star Stitched Dies to cut a window in the front of the card. Then I cut "Happy" out of black cardstock using a die from the Happy Thoughts stamp and die set. I covered this die cut with Versamark ink and clear embossing powder and heat embossed it, repeating 3 times to get the nice glossy effect. I then adhered it to the card.
I cut a piece of vellum with one of the new Stitched Decorative Banner Dies and used Stazon ink to stamp the sentiment from Happy Thoughts. Then I added a few stars. The larger one is from 3 Star Stitched Dies and the smaller ones were made with one of the dies from All Around Holidays. I used the same clear embossing technique on them that I used on the "Happy" die cut.
Be sure to stop by Emma's blog to see what she and the rest of the design team have to share with you today!
