MCT Inspiration Wednesday


It's Inspiration Wednesday with My Creative Time and today I have a fun Sweet 16 card that I made for my niece.  I was inspired to use this 3d Stand Up Card cut by Lori Whitlock from the Silhouette Online Store, after seeing the card that my design team sister Stacey shared on her blog yesterday.  I also found a pretty photo online that I used for my color inspiration.

I altered the cut quite a bit so that I could use lots of My Creative Time dies with it.  I particularly wanted to use my favorite bike from the Way to Go stamp and die set.


The "sweet" sentiment was made by masking off part of a sentiment from Just a Little Note to Say and stamped on a banner made with one of the dies from Vintage Stitched Label Dies.

To make the cake, I took the smaller of the Square Stitched Goody Dies and ran it through my Vagabond a couple of times to make it even smaller.  For the frosting, I cut a little scrap of pink cardstock with one of the borders dies from the Fun Stitched Edges and then used the same die from Square Stitched Goody Dies to get it down to the size I wanted.  The process is a little complicated to explain; maybe I'll make a video of it someday!


The balloons were made with dies from the Stitched Party Dies, and I stamped the with numbers from Circle Font before tying them to the handlebars with some hemp.


Here's a look at the card from the side.  You can see it folds easily for mailing.

    What an adorable card I love how you did your balloons your niece is going to love it. You really did an outstanding creative job using all of Miss Emma's goodies and what a fun fold for a card!!

    Katie ~ You know I LOVE this card for so many reason! First off the base is AMAZING! Then the starburst inside ~ LOVE! But the cake on the back of that bike is simply AMAZING and so flipping CLEVER!! Your niece had t LOVE this card!!!
