It's Try It Tuesday with My Creative Time, and today we are making cards with windows in them! I started with an A2 size card base and then made a layer with watercolor paper that I edged with the MCT Fun Stitched Edges Dies.
I'm currently taking Online Card Classes' Watercolor for Card Makers, so I tried playing with some of the techniques I learned for this card. First I heat embossed some swirls and leaves from MCT's Springtime in Paris with white embossing powder. Then I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks to watercolor over it. I stamped the inks on acrylic blocks and spritzed water on them and then used that to paint on top of the embossing. I also painted the scallops on the layer below to make it match. I then cut a square for the window and used MCT's Stitched Mini Frame around it, adding a cute little flower from the Stitched Pretty Flowers & Leaves Dies in the corner.
Here's a pic of the inside. The sentiment is from MCT's It's All About You.
