Teri has a new Designer Challenge over at My Creative Time: to make a scrapbook layout in any size or format of your choice, using a variety of pockets and envelopes! My son Eric just got into his dream college, so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to start a SmashBook for him!
I thought the "Follow your dreams" sentiment from the Follow Your Dreams stamp set would be perfect on this page, and it pairs so nicely with the cute little airplane made with the Fun Paper Airplane Die. The bracket below my journaling is from It's All About You.
I wanted to include Eric's acceptance letter on the page, but it's so big, so I scanned it, sized it down to 3" x 4", and cut it with the Stitched Journal Die. It then fit perfectly in an envelope made with the Scallop Stitched Envelope Die!
All of the material from CalArts use the same font for the school name, so I wanted to use it on this page. I have no idea what font it is, so I just took that letterhead that I had scanned, pulled it into Silhouettte Studio, traced it, and was then able to cut it. Perfect!
To make this cute little star, I cut the largest of the 3 Star Stitched Dies and then cut the medium sized one out of the middle of it. "Best Day Ever..." is from the Bracket Sentiments stamp set, and the repeated chevron stamp is from It's All About You.
Eric's acceptance letter came in this big colorful folder. Again, I wanted to include it, so I scanned it, sized it the size of a gift card, and printed it on white cardstock. It then fit perfectly in a pocket made with the Stitched Gift Card Pocket!
