MCT January Sneak Peek #1

Welcome to day 1 of the January My Creative Time Sneak Peeks!  Emma has done it again, with some fabulous new stamps and dies!  Cold outside?  No worries; you are not going to want to leave your craft room once you get your hands on these goodies anyway!


 My card today was made for all of my midwest and east coast friends who had to endure those freezing temps last week!  I made a kraft A2 size card base and added a brown layer that I edged with one of the MCT Fun Stitched Edges Dies.  I used another one of those dies to make my snowdrift and then stamped a sentiment from the new You're So Cool stamp set onto it.


How cute is this "cool" snowman???  He was completely put together with accessories from You're So Cool!  What a blast to put together!  I thought it would be fun to do a little paper piecing with him, so I stamped his body onto text patterned paper and stamped the buttons, sunglasses, and twig arms directly onto that.  However, I also stamped the twig arms with Versamark ink onto brown cardstock, cut them out, and adhered them on top, to give it more dimension.  I colored over his glasses with a Sakura Black Glaze Gel Pen to give them some shine.

The hat stamp is a solid image, but I wanted it on patterned paper, so I stamped it with Versamark ink and heat embossed clear embossing powder before cutting it out.  I did the same thing with the mug, on white cardstock.  The little hearts on the mug and hat are from the MCT 4x4 Journal Die + More die set, and I added some Glossy Accents to the one on the mug.  Don't you love the heart shaped steam coming from the mug?  That's another stamp from this set!  And there are lots of other options for dressing up your snowman!


I'm so excited that Emma has created snowflake dies!!!  These two beauties are just two of the three dies included in the new Winter Flake Dies set.  The third one is bigger.  Love!!!
