Welcome to our October My Creative Time Blog Hop! If you just happened to arrive here, you might want to start back at Emma's blog, so that you don't miss anything! I hope you've enjoyed all of our projects this past week. I know some of you already put in your preorders yesterday, and here is one more day of inspiration for you.
I have been dying for an envelope for the Stitched Journal Card, so that I could use it to make birthday cards for my students! So for today's project, I couldn't wait to try out using the Scallop Stitched Envelope Die and making a coordinating birthday card for my student Sophia, who is celebrating her birthday next week!
For her card, I made it a simple postcard style using the Stitched Journal Card. All of the fun postcard elements are from the new Build a Postcard and Postcard Add-Ons stamp sets. The sweet little bird and branch, which I colored with Copic markers, along with the "Happy Birthday" sentiment and music notes are from Birthday Buddies. I think Sophia will love all of the cute elements on here!
For my envelope, I tried something new for me. Before die cutting it, I masked off the bottom of my white cardstock with post-its and stamped the top using the Cartoon Cloud Background Stamp. Then I stamped rows of the squiggly stitched line from Build a Postcard to look like grass. Finally, before die cutting the envelope, I inked up the area with the stitched lines. Once it was assembled I added a sweet flower made with the Stitched Daisy and Stitched Leaves Dies.
Here's a look at the postcard in the envelope. For this envelope, I opted not to add the circles to make it a string tie envelope like I did with yesterday's project. I love how Emma didn't punch holes in the envelope itself, leaving us the option to make it either way!
And here's a closer look at the three new products I used today!
