It's another Scrapping the Little Things with My Creative Time, and today I've got an accordion mini album to share with you. I made this by cutting a 12 x 12 piece of kraft cardstock into three 12 x 4 inch strips, and then scored each strip at the 3", 6", and 9" mark. I folded the strips accordion style and then adhered them together with the last panel of one strip overlapping the first panel of the next, creating one long strip. Since I had 14 pictures I wanted to include, 7 on the front and 7 on the back, along with a front and back cover, I just trimmed off the one extra panel that remained.
This mini is something I made for my nephew who just started his first year of college across the country. I sent him a care package over the weekend, and I thought it would be fun to include a mini with the pictures I took over the summer of a silly shopping expedition we went on. We were doing some back to school shopping in San Francisco, and whenever we go there, my son, niece, and nephew always ask my sister and I to take them to the scary Ross store downtown. They are always appalled by the way the shoppers there seem to just look at clothes and then throw them on the floor.
For my cover, I used the My Creative Time Label Font to make "Adventures in" and then used the Lowercase Fun Dies to spell out "Ross". Some Papertrey Ink Rustic Jute Button Twine was perfect to tie the book together. All of the patterned papers that I used in the mini are from my scrap drawer, so I don't have links to any of them.
On the left page here I used the Just Simply Live Die for my frame and the Stitched Fun Ticket Die to hold my sentiment from Some Days Simple Require... On the right I used the adorable What a View! Die and the Label Font.
Here on the left I used the fun Party die from Let's Celebrate. On the right, I've got a sentiment from Things I love... stamped on a die cut made with a die from Build a Banner. See all of the clothes on the floor in that pic?
Here we've got some cool shoes made from the Girls Night Out Stitched Dies, and then we've got a sentiment from Just Simply Live stamped on a die cut made with the coordinating die from that set!
And lastly, I gave my mom a speech bubble using the Stitched Square Speech Dies with a sentiment from Things I Love... There are lots more pictures on the back panels, but they are even more embarrassing than the ones on the front, so I think I would get in trouble for posting them here!
Here are some more things I included in the care package. My nephew has a great sense of humor, so I think he will appreciate them. However, my sister thought we should warn him that he was getting a package with some silly things in them in case he would be embarrassed pulling some of these things out in front of his new roommates! All of the silly items are from the dollar section at Michael's - great place to go if you're making a care package!
I managed to fit about 5 dozen chocolate chip cookies into the box!!!
