Shaker Birthday Snow Globe with Video

I made my first shaker card!  Thanks to my design teammie Nikki for inspiring me!  I made this card for my Summer Card Camp 2 class, following a few different challenges:  using a specific color combination, trying out a shaker card, and using some holiday stamps for a non-holiday card.

Since snow globes are not just for Christmas, I thought it would be fun to pull out my Papertrey Ink Winter Snow Globe stamp set and create a birthday globe.  So the lime green base of the globe is from this stamp set, but the cake inside is from My Creative Time's All Around Everything Accessories.  Since the challenge was to use those holiday stamp sets, I took "Happy" from MCT's All Around Christmas, but "Birthday" is from MCT's Celebrate Good Times.  Another first today was using sequins!

I've got my second video of the week, so you can see how I put this together.  I've got a new video set-up too, with a bird's eye view, so I'd love to hear what you think!  It definitely makes it easier on my end!

  3. Great card and video Katie! I have seen the foam tape used but I really like the fun foam idea for a solid ring of foam to keep the shakes inside. Super job.

  4. Katie thank you for the great card. Also, I noticed that you had measurements on your Envelope Maker for an A2 card......it works perfect! I'm so glad you had that on the video. Unfortunately the measurements on the board are not correct and I have been fiddling around with the different sizes....this is perfect. Yea!! Again, great card and I like the use of the fun foam too :)
