Welcome to our July My Creative Time Blog Hop! If you just happened to arrive here, you might want to start back at Emma's blog, so that you don't miss anything! I hope you've enjoyed all of our projects this past week. Many of you are probably already receiving your orders, so here is one more day of inspiration for you!
I have a very different type of project for you today. This past year I have not been very consistent with working out. I recently saw a neurologist about my migraines, and one of things he wants me to do is to try and exercise EVERY SINGLE DAY. So, instead of making a card or a layout, I decided to make an exercise log for the month of July. In the past, I've kept track of my workouts on my computer or my phone, but I decided that I needed something really visual and in my face. Of course, it had to be cute and colorful too, since I'm keeping it right out on my desk!
Emma's new Stitched 4 x 6 Journal Die was just perfect for this project! I cut it out of kraft cardstock and then stamped the calendar grid from Type Calendar Stamp Set in black ink. I stamped it to the left of the card, leaving room to add a fun strip of diagonal striped paper from the Simple Stories LIFE SN@P to the side. I ran it through the Vagabond with the Stitched 4 x 6 Journal Die as well, so that it would also have the stitching on it. That cute aqua tab was cut with the Stitched Tab Die and stamped with "July" from Calendar Stamp. I had fun using lots of different ink colors to stamp my numbers and days of the week. Now, to keep track of the days I work out, I'm stamping a little star from It's a Magical Season, one of Emma's older holiday stamp sets. It fits just perfectly!
Across the bottom, I added some runners from You Are Here and an inspiring quote from Sports Sentiments.
Now, the back of the card is where I record my workouts. I cut some cute paper from that Simple Stories 6x6 pad again and adhered it to the back of the kraft journal card. It is possible to use the 4 x 6 die with a 6 x 6 pad. I find it helpful to adhere it down with a bit of washi tape, just to keep it in place.
I added another inspiring quote from Sports Sentiments to the top, along with the adorable bicycle from You Are Here!
I have to say, this system is working well for me so far! I've only missed one day of working out since I made this on July 5th, although knowing that I was going to post it on my blog for all of you to see today has been BIG motivation!
