Masculine Birthday Card

One of the techniques I learned in the Studio Calico Inked class was using distress inks with a water brush.  I only had brown distress inks, so I went out and bought some additional colors.  For this birthday card for my dad, I used a combination of Ranger's Vintage Photo and Crushed Olive to make my background (without water).  To add some interest along the side, I punched two holes, put in some eyelets, and then added some thin hemp twine.

My sentiment was made with two different My Creative Time stamp sets:  Fly Away With Me Sentiments and More of My Favorite Sayings.

To make my globe from Papertrey Ink's Destination stamp set, I stamped it with StazOn ink on watercolor paper.  I then used Tumbled Glass and Crushed Olive distress inks with a water brush to color it.  The plane and curvy arrow are also from Destination.  I think I'll be using more of this technique in the future!
