Gift Certificate Envelope

I've got some birthday crafting to do this weekend!  My family is celebrating the February and March birthdays tomorrow, which means I have 3 projects to make!  This is the first one.  My brother is into iRacing, and I got him a gift certificate.  This is the little envelope I made to hold it.

I just received my Cricut Circle Animal Antics cartridge, and I just love this driving toucan!  I thought he would fit my theme perfectly.  He is cut at 2 1/2".  To make my "road" I cut a narrow strip of patterned paper from the My Mind's Eye Away We Go 6x6 pack.

I found the racing flag in the Silhouette Online Store and cut it with my Cameo.

For my sentiment I took "Happy Birthday" from My Creative Time's More of My Favorite Sayings (I masked out the rest of that sentiment with scotch tape), and then I added "Enjoy the Ride" from MCT's Just Simply Live.

I used Lori Whitlock's #10 String Tie Envelope, adjusting the size so that the finished envelope is 6" x 3 1/2", just perfect for my gift certificate. I used the tutorial on the Silhouette blog that teaches how to size any envelope to match your card.  It's really easy and so useful!

Here's a look at the envelope all tied up.  I used a little bit of thin hemp from Liz's Paper Loft Boutique to tie it.  Okay, on to the next two projects!  I'll try to post them this week.
