Cinnamon Apple Scones

The extra hour over the weekend gave me a little time to bake!  I had seen a recipe for Cinnamon Apple Scones on Pinterest, and since my parents and sister had just gone apple picking and brought me a bunch of yummy apples, I just had to try it!  These are so delicious that I decided to share with a few colleagues.  Of course, a paper crafter can't give away a treat without making it cute, right?  I quickly wrapped them in saran wrap and tied pretty metallic simanay ribbon from Liz's Paper Loft Boutique around them.  This ribbon is 2" wide, but I folded it in half to make it narrower and denser.  Love it!

Anytime I want to give away a homemade treat, My Creative Time's All Around Goodies makes it a snap to create a cute, quick tag.  I just used the Scallop & Stitched Circle Dies to cut my cardstock, stamped on the appropriate sentiment and image, and colored it with Copic markers.  So easy!!!

Here's a closer look at the scones.  I highly recommend them, and you can find the recipe here.  It calls for cinnamon chips, which I had never heard of before.  I thought maybe it was an east coast thing, but I was pleasantly surprised to find the Hershey brand right next to the chocolate chips at my Safeway store!
