Welcome to the My Creative Time August Stamp Release Blog Hop! You should have arrived here from the talented Jeanne's blog, but if you just happened upon here, be sure to stop by Emma's blog to see ALL of the awesome new products today!
Okay, I think these might be my favorite dies ever! Emma has created the 3 x 3 Fancy Envelope Die and the coordinating Card Sentiments stamp set that includes the 3 x 3 Fancy Tri-fold Card Die! I love to make 3" cards, and to have a die for making the envelopes is such a gift!
Since the school year is about to begin, I thought it would be great to make 20 birthday cards to have in my classroom, so they are ready for each student's birthday! I came up with 4 basic designs, and then it was very fast to put them together!
For this first card, I took one of the ornament dies from the new My Creative Time Warm Holiday Fun stamp/die set, and used it to make balloons! I was even able to use the stamp of the straight line included in this set to make my strings! I just curved when placing it into my acrylic block. The "Happy Birthday" that I used on the card is one of ten sentiments from Card Sentiments that fit perfectly on the tri-fold card.
For this card, I used the ice-cream cone die from the MCT Celebrate Good Times stamp/die set. I thought this card would be perfect for one of my little girls!
This one was fun to make. To get the striped pattern on my kraft card base, I ran a scrap of paper through my Cuttlebug, placing it where I wanted it on the die, and then just trimmed the left side to size. Then I adhered a thin strip of brown cardstock and added the cutest wood veener bicycle that I bought from Liz's Paper Loft Boutique!
Here I used the My Creative Time Flower Petal Dies along with a button and some hemp (also from Liz's).
It's best to use thin paper for the envelopes, to keep them from popping open where you adhere them. I love to buy a big DCWV or Recollections stack of thin patterned paper for this purpose. They carry them at Joann's and Michael's. The papers I used for the envelopes shown are from DCWV's The Stack 6 and Recollections All Girl paper pad.
Here's a basket of all of my completed cards and envelopes. I really did make twenty! And here's a peak at the 3 stamp/die sets I used, which are now all available at the My Creative Time Store!
