A new Close to My Heart Cricut cartridge just came out, and I decided that before I buy it, I need to really get a lot of use out of the first one, Art Philosophy. If you are ready to buy Artiste, or Art Philosophy, my design team buddy Leanne is a new CTMH consultant, and you can get them through her.
For my card today, I cut the card base from page 37 of Art Philosophy, at 4.96". Why the strange size? When I put my Gypsy on "real dial" size, I chose a width of 8.5" to make my card the right size for an A2 envelope. This made the height 4.96" without the real dial size on. At first I was going to use the coordinating layer, but it didn't look right with the other elements I wanted to put on the card. Instead, I cut the main shape at 4.37" (I just shrunk it down on the Gypsy until it looked right to me, and this is the size I ended up with). I used some fine linen ink to stamp the Script Type Background from My Creative Time on this layer to add some interest.
The adorable cupcake was created with the die from My Creative Time's Celebrate Good Times stamp and die set. I just adore this cupcake with the stitched edges! The sweet sentiment on the flag is also from this stamp set, and I stamped it on a tag made with MCT's Teeny Tag Greetings die. Up until now, I had somehow overlooked that little sentiment, and it fits perfectly on the Teeny Tag die!
To make a little banner, I cut three of the pennant shape that is on page 49 of the Art Philosophy handbook. I adhered these right to my card base and added some little brads to each end. I think I'm going to leave the handbook for this cartridge on my desk for a while. There are so many fun little elements that will be perfect for Project Life too!
