Wish You Were Here

I had plans to do some traveling this summer with friends who live across the country from me.  However, my recent surgery and my friend's broken foot waylaid our plans.  So I thought I'd make a card for them telling them that I do wish they were here.

My card base is Papertrey Ink's kraft cardstock, and the patterned paper is from We R Memory Keepers Down the Boardwalk collection.  Before adhering the two layers together, I sewed lines on the top layer and then distressed the edges of both pieces.

I used Papertrey Ink's Road Trip stamp set for the sentiment, compass rose, and the little flag marking my location.

I got the idea of stringing my hemp through eyelets from Ashley Cannon Newell. I thought it was a fun and different look!

  1. Katie ~ what a GREAT card! The sentiment and paper are PERFECT together! I LOVE how it just gets straight to the point without a lot of details or subtle details! CUTE idea to mark the location ~ CLEVER idea really! Sorry this summer didn't work out for you two but hopefully next year!

  5. Perfect paper choice for the sentiments and other stamps. Very clever idea and I also like the eyelets idea. How do you remember where you got the idea? I would like and try to give credit when I use an idea but so hard to remember everything. Great job!
