I've been thinking about it for a while, and I finally decided to embark on Project Life. I do enjoy making scrapbook pages, but I tend to make them rather detailed, so there is no way I could catch up in this lifetime. I decided that Project Life can document the present, and when I get the urge to make full size pages, I can work on pictures from the past.
I ordered a box of a variety of Photo Pock Pages from Amazon to get started. I also wanted to get one of the Project Life kits, but they are out of stock until later this month. However, I discovered it's easy to do this without the kit (although I still will probably get one in the future), and it's a great way to use some of my large collection of papers!
I cut "Week 25" with my Silhouette Cameo. It's part of Kerri Bradford's Life Additions: Weeklies collection. I know I don't have weeks 1 - 24, but I decided to start this day since this week was the 25th of the year. Most people seem to do double page layouts for each week, but I think I'll probably do single pages to start. I can always do more when we have busier weeks.
What I'm loving about Project Life is how wide open it is and that I can really use all of my supplies. Simple Stories has a lot of journaling tags in their collections that fit in well. My Creative Time has lots of stamps that add a nice touch too.
This funny car is cut from the Cricut Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge. I also picked up a Smash Book Date Stamp to use throughout my album. I love this journaling tag from Simple Stories. Just perfect for Eric's first time on the road with me!
This awesome cut was designed by Lori Whitlock, and I purchased it in the Silhouette store. Okay, now that I've finished explaining everything, I'm wanting to get started on week 26!

ReplyDeleteLove this layout. I bought the Amber kit a while back and have not used it yet. I too am so far behind and thought it would be a good way to catch up and not stress about it. Thanks for inspiring me to get started on my book.

what a great idea! love that it's simple yet still decorated!
ReplyDeleteI like this idea...like a picture diary. You must take pictures nearly every day? I wish I had taken more. Not sure I have something weekly to scrap about now. Great job on your page. Have fun with the new driver thing...makes life interesting!
