Playing with Lace Backgrounds

Now that it's summer vacation, I finally have the time to work my way through Kerri Bradford's Silhouette Studio classes.  In the second class she taught us how to make this stars and circles lace background.  It was originally a 12" x 12" size, so I was pretty proud of myself  that I was able to just take a portion of it and add a rectangle around it for a card.  I also cut some stars separately to add pops of color.  I can't say enough about Kerri's classes; I'm learning so much about Silhouette Studio!!! Her classes can be found on, and they are on SALE this week!

For my sentiment, I cut a strip of vellum and adhered 1/4" strips of cardstock with 1/4" Scor-Tape (this covers the Scor-Tape that adheres the vellum to the card).  The sentiment, from My Creative Time's My Little Firecracker stamp set, is stamped with StazOn ink.

Products used for this card:

  1. that background! lee-Ann :)

  2. Katie ~ okay I LOVE the stars and circles lace background ~ Eeeek! Waht a GREAT background!!!! I LOVE how you added the pops of color with the other stars! Oh What a PERFECT sentiment to use and on vellum! I have to try that! You seem to be mastering that Sihoutte~ FABULOUS job as always!!!

  3. Katie, I love the lace background! The starts are so cute with the two colors! Looking forward to seeing what else you create with the silhouette. Thanks for sharing! lindagk23
