It's Scrappy Monday at My Creative Time, and we've got a fun challenge going on! Using the sketch below, we needed to create a layout incorporating fibers (jute, hemp, burlap, twine, etc.). For my layout, I started with a 12" x 12" piece of kraft cardstock from The Paper Company. The tree patterned paper, from American Crafts, is cut at 4" x 12". The polka-dot frame is cut at 11.4" from the Cricut Elegant Edges cartridge, using more paper from American Crafts. The brown gingham, from DCWV's Autumn Splendor stack, is a 9" square, and I used my sewing machine to stitch along its border.
I cut "The Great Outdoors" from Graphically Speaking, at 6 1/4". "Life is Beautiful," from My Creative Time's Cherish the Moment stamp set, was heat embossed with white embossing powder.
"You are SUCH A HAM" is from MCT's Camera Shy stamp set. The pretty blue seam binding is from Liz's Paper Loft Boutique.
I made a little spot for my journaling by first cutting a scalloped circle from Mini Monograms at 6 1/4". The cream circle layer is cut at 6". Using a tip from my design team buddy Kim, I stapled some green jute from Liz's Paper Loft Boutique to use as grass. The funny moose is cut at 4 1/4" from Campin' Critters. "Adventure" is from MCT's Have Fun in the Sun stamp set, and the journaling lines are from MCT's My Journaling.
Now, it's your turn to join in the fun! This Scrappy Monday Challenge is open at My Creative Time until Sunday, June 24th!
