Here's a layout I made for my son's sixth birthday. We'd had his birthday party a few days before and celebrated with a big cake, which is why he only has a little cupcake here. I don't want you to think I deprived the poor child. Although, when he was younger, he didn't like sweets and would take maybe one bite (much to his mother's shock)!
For the base of my layout, I used a 12 x 12 piece of kraft cardstock from The Paper Company. I then machine stitched some patterned paper to brown cardstock and adhered that to the base. The patterned papers are from Simple Stories' Happy Day, both from the 12 x 12 and 6 x 6 collections. The cute little flags coming off of the picture were cut from this paper too.
All of my cuts were made with the Cricut Birthday Bash cartridge. The title is cut at 3" and was run through my paper crimper.
The pennants were cut at 1" and popped up with dimensional adhesive. I added some cute mini clothespins to the ends for added interest.
The balloons are cut at 5", and I tied a little button twine around them to give them more dimesion.
Lastly, this cute little mouse peeking out of a present was cut at 3".
