It's so easy to make cutesy cards for little ones, to tuck in their lunch boxes, but sometimes our teens need a little pick-me-up. A little card left at the breakfast table is sure to cheer them up!
My zipper card is an unusual size, since I wasn't planning on putting it in an envelope. The base is 9" x 3 1/4", scored at 4 1/2". The green layer is 4 1/4" x 3", and the cream layer is cut with the Papertrey Ink Movers & Shakers: Zipper Die, which makes it 4" x 2 3/4". The sentiment and arrows are from the Papertrey Ink Movers & Shakers Sentiments stamp set.
When my son tore off the zipper, this message was revealed.
To make my stars, I used the Cricut A Child's Year cartridge and cut them at 1", 1 1/4", and 1 1/2". I embossed each one with a different Cuttlebug embossing folder (see below).

Love it Katie
ReplyDeleteKatie ~ I LOVE this card! Okay I know I say that everytime but WOW! The colors and inking are just PERFECT! How clever to emboss the 3 stars with 3 different sized folders and do it by size! Oh My ~ so lifting this idea! The PTI goodies are so tempting! UGH! I think this would pick ANYBODY up! I bet your son LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteSO cool!!! Interactive cards are the best. I thought that undoing the zipper might ruin all the work that went into the card but it still looks terrific. YAY! Very fun! Hugs- Glora

ReplyDeleteLove this card. Love the sentiment. This would work great for volunteers. Thanks for the great idea.
ReplyDeleteWhen are you going to get the zipper die back in?
ReplyDeleteI love how you used 3 different size dots for the embossing!!!
ReplyDeleteKatie, your cards and other creations are always fantastic. I have learned so much and gotten so many ideas from your blog. I just ordered the Zipper Die and stamp set this week and can't wait for them to arrive so I can get creative too. Thanks so much.

I love this card!! I went to get that die and it says unavailable. Does that mean it is out of stock or no longer made? I want one so bad!!
ReplyDeleteLove this card, Katie. Your cards are always inspirational. I tried to order the zipper die and it was sold out. I sure hope they reorder it. I was able to buy the other Movers and Shakers dies and the coordinating stamp set, and can't wait to craft with them.
