MCT March Sneak Peek #4!

Welcome to Day 4 of the My Creative Time March Sneak Peeks!  Don't forget that you can order the new stamps in Emma's store now, which will have you receiving them in time to join our Linky Party!

I have a fun idea for you today!  As many of you know, I am a second/third grade teacher.  Well, this year I have the sweetest mom, who asked me one day what my favorite Starbucks drink is. Every once in a while, she surprises me with a mocha!  I can't tell you how much I appreciate this - it makes my day every time.  For all of you crafty moms, how about surprising your child's teacher with a Starbuck's drink dressed up in a homemade coffee sleeve?

To make my fun embellishments, I began by die cutting the "to go" cup from Emma's super fun new Coffee Break Stamp Set.  I then stamped the coordinating stamp image onto a piece of white note paper and cut out the cup portion.  I used some repositional adhesive to adhere the remaining portion of the note paper to my die cut.

I then stamped the die cut with the cute argyle pattern (one of three little backgrounds) that is included in this set.  I didn't have to worry about lining it up too carefully, since I knew the sleeve would cover where the two sections met.  Sorry I don't have a picture of what it looked like when I pulled off the note paper, but it just left the cup portion of the die cut stamped, leaving the lid and the outline blank.

Next I stamped the "to go" cup image again, this time on kraft cardstock.  I cut out just the lid and adhered it to my first die cut.  The die comes with a stitched coffee sleeve, which I used with green felt.

Of course, I had to use my favorite MCT Teeny Tag Greetings Stamp & Die Set to add a little sentiment.

I punched a hole in each die cut and used some twine to tie them to my homemade felt coffee sleeve.  To make that, I opened up a Starbucks coffee sleeve and traced it on kraft felt.  After cutting it out, I stitched along the edges and then stitched the two ends of the felt together.  It's a fun, reusable coffee sleeve that any teacher would love!

Here's a look at the entire Coffee Break stamp set.  I am in love with this one!!!
