Today I have a sweet patchwork heart Valentine for you. I made it with my Silhouette, but it could just as easily be made with a Cricut. My card base is a 4 1/4" square, made with kraft cardstock from The Paper Company. The heart is a free cut from the Silhouette Studio. I only cut three of the layers: the heart and the two scalloped hearts, sized at 3 1/2".
To get the patchwork effect, I cut pieces of patterned paper from the My Mind's Eye Love Me paper stack, arranged them on my Silhouette mat in the spot where I had set the smallest heart to cut, and then made the cut. I then cut this same heart again, out of a solid piece of cardstock, so that I could adhere all of the pieces to it as a base and then stitch them together. Once this was completed, I used some dimensional adhesive to adhere it to the scalloped layers.
My sweet little sentiment is stamped in dark chocolate ink, using the My Creative Time Teeny Tag Greetings stamp set.

This is amazing!! I LOVE the patterned paper you used and the stitching is just perfect! I never would have thought about laying the papers on the mat and then cutting the heart... very smart. :) I probably would have cut the heart out of each of the papers then stacked them and cut them... not as efficient for sure. Thanks for sharing this awesome card and the excellent technique as well. :)
