Welcome to the My Creative Time "12 Days of Christmas"! You are in for a lot of fun for these twelve days - daily projects by Emma and the design team, along with some fabulous prizes celebrating Emma's one year anniversary! If you arrived here from Jeanne, then you are headed in the right direction. If not, please start at Emma's blog here.
For today's card, my base is 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2". The red patterned layer is cut at 4" x 5 1/2". The green layer, edged with the Papertrey Ink Pinking Shears Border Die, is 3 3/4" x 5 1/2".
The other day I used Emma's Stitched Circle Die to cut this circle out of striped paper for another project and ended up not using it. It sat on my desk, and every time I glanced at it, it made me think of an ornament. I realized I could make it into an ornament, and it could also be the "O" in "HO". My Hs are cut at 1.4" (I used my Gypsy to make them a height that would match the circles, but I think 1 1/2" would be fine too, if you don't have a Gypsy).
To make the hanger part of the ornaments, I die cut the medallion shape from Emma's Build a Banner Kit out of red glittered cardstock.
I then just cut it apart with scissors and then taped each "hanger" to the back of the circles before popping them up. Easy!
Recipe:
Papertrey Ink Rustic White Cardstock
Recollections "Sugar Plums" Patterned Paper
Martha Stewart "Key & Heart" Patterned Paper (for red glittered)
My Creative Time's "Stitched Circle Die" & "Build a Banner Kit"
Papertrey Ink "Pinking Shears Border Die"
Offray White Satin Ribbon
