Create Banner

I made this little banner for my craft room using some My Creative Time goodies and the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.  I began by cutting the pennant shapes from Art Philosophy at 2 1/2" from cream cardstock and stamping them with the coordinating pennant background stamps from the Close To My Heart Vintage Type stamp set.  I mounted these on the red pennants, cut at 2 3/4", punched holes for the twine, and added some eyelets.

I used pop dots to add the next layers, created with My Creative Time's Scallop & Stitched Circle Dies. I also stamped striped and polka dots on the stitched circle using the My Creative Time Build a Banner Kit.  The letters are cut from the Cricut Simply Sweet font cartridge, at 1 1/4".

My purpose in creating this banner was to decorate my chicken wire frame  that I made with Emma (My Creative Time) and Liz (Liz's Paper Loft).  We saw these at the Stampin' Up booth at the Scrapbook Expo this past summer, and Liz thought we could easily make them.  To see how we did it, hop over to Emma's blog.  We've got a video for her "Tip of the Day" today.  And be sure to stop by Liz's blog too, to see what she's done with her frame!  It's a fun addition to my craft room, where I can hang some of my favorite cards.  We even stamped on clothespins, which is how I got my red polka-dots. :-)

Here are links to my posts showing how I made the various cards:
