For this week's Papertrey Ink Make it Monday Challenge, Nichole Heady made a video tutorial of her "Polaroid 2-Step Masking" technique. I used this technique on my star. I began by cutting a 4" star from A Child's Year on kraft cardstock. I then used my Gypsy to embed a 2 1/2" star within a 4" star and cut them out on thin paper. I used repositional adhesive to first cover the inside and sponge white ink around the outside, and then to cover the outside and stamp fireworks on the inside. If I'm totally confusing you, watch Nichole's video.

My fireworks are actually flowers from the PTI Botanical Silhouettes Stamp Set. To make my card background, I stamped a pattern from A Little Argyle in blue and then added red stars from Daily Designs.
My sentiment is from My Creative Time's My Little Firecracker stamp set. I heat embossed it, cut the paper into a banner shape, and adhered it to my kraft base with some brads.
I'm also entering this card into Whimsical Wednesday's "Let's Get Patriotic" Challenge.
