I was so excited to get my Everyday Pop-Up Cards cartridge in the mail yesterday. Then I looked at the handbook. These pop-ups are confusing! Unfortunately, there aren't directions on how to put them together, and not many people have posted projects with this cartridge on their blogs. So I decided to use a pop-up for the inside of my card that I did see used before, on the Cricut Circle blog. Here is a picture of the handbook page I used for the pop-up.

The pop-up piece (the part that you score and fold) is cut at 4 3/4". As you can see, it comes with flowers that stick into the top of it (see the slits on the pop-up piece). They felt pretty flimsy to me, so I recut the pop-up piece, hiding the slits with my Gypsy, and cut the FlowerBox cut at 2 3/4" inches. In this way I was able to attach it to the front of the pop-up piece. All of the layers are also cut at 2 3/4". It looked to me that this is how they did it on the Circle Blog post too. My cute sentiment inside is stamped with My Creative Time's "So Grateful For You" stamp set. Since the sentiment is actually made up of two stamps, I was easily able to stamp it with two different colors.

For the front of my card, I cut a piece of 5 1/4" x 4" Simply Chartreuse Cardstock, and I stamped across the bottom of it with My Creative Time's "Fun Borders" Stamp Set. My red striped paper was cut at 5 1/4" x 3" and trimmed with a border punch. The flowerpot is also from Everyday Pop-Up Cards and was cut at 3". Finally, I added a little sentiment with my Tiny Tags stamp and die.
I am determined to figure out some of the more complicated pop-ups from this cartridge, so check back here this week. I'm on Spring Break, so there's lots of time to play! :-)
